Abode’s “New Normal”

 

I tried googling another phrase because I’m afraid everyone is already tired of hearing about the “new normal”. But the reality of it is, how could whatever industry you are in not change at this point. Yes, I’m talking Corona.

Being closed the last several weeks has changed the way I have been doing things. I’ve been meeting clients/future clients by appointment only, selling smalls on Instagram story sales, selling items right from the warehouse, etc. I’ve made it work. Add losing my right hand woman at the store (Carley moved to Columbus this past weekend), I HAVE to make changes.

From now on, the store will be closed on Tuesdays (I’m normally closed Sundays/Mondays). I am reserving that day for me to continue Instagram story/warehouse sales, take client appointments in and out of the store, and to continue to try to work from home that day as much as possible.

The store will be open Wednesday through Friday 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. I am also encouraging people to still shop online and through social media as much as possible.

Going forward:

  • Weekly store tours will go up on Facebook and Instagram to encourage online shopping.

  • I can video chat with anyone interested in a piece from the store or warehouse.

  • I will also be compiling an email list. My hope is that I can send out a weekly email with “new inventory” with specs and pricing. Join our email list here.

  • We are not delivering furniture until further notice. We will get back to that at some point, but right now I feel like I need to protect our clients, my employees, and our families.

I’m sure as the store re-opens I’ll think of other things, but for now I know these changes will be implemented immediately. I hope this finds you all safe and healthy. I can’t wait to slowly see all of your smiling faces again!
